Women's Tennis Blanks University of La Verne 9-0

Claremont, Calif. - The women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0  win over the visiting Leopards of La Verne on Saturday to remain unbeaten in SCIAC play.

The number three doubles team of Nicole Holsted and Emily Kawahara put the Hens on the board with their 8-0 win. The number one doubles team of Jamie Solomon and Kara Wang soon added to the win total with their 8-1 win. Completing the doubles sweep was the number three team of Samantha Chao and Arthi Padmanabhan, winning 8-4.

Leading 3-0 heading into singles, Chao, Holsted, and Kawahara secured the match victory in straight sets. Alex Antonoplis was next off of the court, winning her match at six singles, 6-2, 6-3. Kristin Brikmanis had a slightly tougher time at five singles, but won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. At one singles, Jamie Solomon was able to break her opponent's serve at four all in the second and serve out the match, winning 6-1, 6-4.

On Friday, Apri 13, the Hens will travel to Caltech for a 2 pm conference match.
