Strehle Track Gets New Surface

Pomona-Pitzer's Strehle Track, home of the Sagehen men's and women's track and field teams, received a new resurfacing over the 2010-2011 mid-year break. The Beynon Sports BSS 2000 LE track replaces the previous powder blue surface that was installed in 2001.

"We're very excited about this new track surface," said Women's Head Coach Kirk Reynolds. "It's a beautiful track, and is one of the nicest facilities in the Southern California area. We look forward to having our teams train on it, and we also look forward to hosting our home meets on it, too."

Pomona-Pitzer annually hosts a wide array of competitions on Strehle Track each spring, ranging from small, 4-way conference meets to the annual Pomona-Pitzer Invite, where up to 2000 athletes come through town in April. This spring, the SCIAC Championships will be hosted by Pomona-Pitzer on the new surface in late April.

"We're very pleased with the track," said Men's Head Coach Tony Boston. "This new resurfacing updates an already-beautiful track facility, and provides our student-athletes a first-rate place to hone their skills."
