MEET ENTRY PROCEDURE
COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY ENTRY
Entries must be completed online at Direct Athletics (college/univ site) by Wednesday, April 11 at 1pm. Only college/university teams may be bring payment to the track on meet day. Please make checks payable to 'Pomona College'. Confirm your entries on this website by Thursday 2pm the week of the meet. Late entries on meet day will be accepted only at the discretion of meet management. To discourage late entry on meet day, late entrants and requests for changes will be charged $25.00 per person and $25.00 per relay team. There will be no refunds for meet-day scratches.
INDIVIDUAL / CLUB ENTRY
Entries must be completed online at Direct Athletics (club/unat site) by Wednesday, April 11 at 1pm. Entrants for clubs or individuals must register and pay in advance by entering as a club or as individuals through Direct Athletics. Confirm your entries on this website by Thursday 2pm the week of the meet. Late entries on meet day will be accepted only at the discretion of meet management. To discourage late entry on meet day, late entrants and requests for changes will be charged $25.00 per person and $25.00 per relay team. There will be no refunds for meet-day scratches.
MEET INFORMATION
ENTRY FEE: $10.00 per person. $10.00 per relay team.
FACILITIES: Athletes must wear 1/4" spikes or shorter. The new track and all runway surfaces are Beynon Sports BSS 2000 LE. Timing will be fully automatic (FAT) for all running events, with final times posted to our Daktronics scoreboard.
MEET SCHEDULE: Check above on this page for the latest schedule. Final schedule will be posted by Thursday evening the week of the meet.
CHECK-IN: Runners must check in with the clerk at the Clerk Tent (near finish line) at least 30 minutes before their event or you will be scratched. Field event athletes must check in 20 minutes prior to event at site.
WARM-UP: Running warm-ups may be conducted on the football field northwest of the track this year (we do not have a home baseball game, so you won't get hit by foul balls). You may also use sidewalks and trails around campus.
TRAINER: Trainers will be on the west side of the track near the shed.
CONCESSION STAND: A variety of food and beverages will be available for purchase next to the green shed after 11am. Meet T-shirts will also be available for purchase after 3pm.
AWARDS: T-shirts will be awarded to all 1st place finishers in all heats and field event flights. These can be picked up at the Awards Tent after the results are announced over the PA.
LOCATION: The track facility is located west of Mills Avenue on Pomona College's campus . Park in campus lots (no fee). To get to Pomona College from Interstate 10, take Indian Hill exit north 1 mile to 4th Street. Turn right, and go east six blocks past College Avenue and College Way. Park just below the baseball field. Some parking (and an entrance gate to the track) is available on Mills Avenue. To get to Pomona College from Interstate 210, take Towne Avenue exit south for 1 mile to Foothill Blvd. Turn left, and go 1 mile east to Indian Hill stoplight. Turn left on 4th Street. Turn left, and go six blocks past College Avenue and College Way. Park just below the baseball field. Some parking (and an entrance gate to the track) is available on Mills Avenue.
IMPLEMENT WEIGH-INS: Implement weigh-ins will be held in the green shed on the backstretch. Weigh-ins are required for all throwers between 8:30am - 11:45am. No weigh-ins after 11:45am.
RULES: The meet will operate under NCAA rules. A wind-gauge will be used for sprints and LJ/TJ. Jumpers and throwers will get four attempts. All fair attempts will be measured.
LOCKERS: No locker or shower facilities are available.
RESULTS: Unofficial results will be posted on the results board throughout the meet. Please alert your SIDs that final results will be posted at the top of this page in the evening after the meet ends.
NOTES
- We will be inviting institutions to the 2012 meet. Only invited teams will be able to enter athletes into the meet. Only four-year institutions will be invited -- no JCs or CCs. Priority for invited teams will be as follows: NCAA Division III and NAIA teams first; NCAA Division II teams second; NCAA Division I teams last.
- Please know that field event athletes will get only 10 minutes warmup between flights.
- Buses must park on or near Mills Avenue. Please ask your bus drivers not to idle the bus engines in the neighborhood.
- Pole vault: We will run two sections concurrently for both men and women, with the higher section on the south pit and the lower section on the north pit.
- Vertical jump progressions will be as follows: HJ goes up by 5 cm and PV goes up by 15 cm.
- running heats will be ordered fastest to slowest.
- field event flights will be ordered best to worst (4 attempts - no finals).
